Add Comment Pipestone, Banff National park The last touch of light deep in Pipestone valley. ISO 200 200mm f/5.0 1/800sec Sunrise at Bow Lake on may 1st. Winter still hasn't released it's grip on the Icefield parkway. ISO 200 24mm f/5.6 1/60sec Mt Temple, Lake louise, Banff National Park Mt Temple rises from the clouds for a brief moment during a winter storm. ISO 160 200mm f/8 1/1600sec Megalodone tooth, Lake Louise Backcountry, Banff National park. Wind as the artist. My intent in this photograph was to showcase the corniced ridge leading to the peak. In order to capture the intricate sculpture left by the wind, I knew I had to wait untill the sun was beyond the horizon. The blue hour offers beautifully diffused light and i find snow the best suited subject. I just love how the light bounces around. I had planned to wait for the stars to show but the very windy nature of this location left me VERY! cold after a 2:30 hour session. ISO 50 18mm f/16 0.5 sec Lake Louise ski area, Banff National park, Canada. This is my favourite optical phenomenom of all. This glowing spot is a dance of a million ice crystals that seem to follow you as you move along. I witnessed this optical phenomenon only a handful of time and was pretty excited to finally get a frame worth showing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subsun ISO 200 400mm f/8 1250 sec Haddo peak, Sheol Valley, Banff National park, Canada. The Bow river loop here in Lake Louise offers 7 km of cross-country skiing and beautiful views of the peaks surrounding town.
